Today’s Assignment
Feel, with your small self, the massive livingness of the world.
Don’t know where to begin? Here are a few things you might try.
- Press your belly to the earth body. Relax completely and rest. Can you sense a boundless extension of tranquil soil soaking its gritty coolness into your skin?
- Slow-inhale the soft warm damp of woodland plants on a summer day. Perhaps you catch wormy humus flavors in the heat?
- Gaze at the ocean while tucked into a pile of boulders. Do you feel their rough forms bounding your bone-threaded softness?
In feeling deeply what it is to be a tiny body on the massive earth, do you feel, perhaps, a kind of holist, elemental, transcendent love?
These are leading questions, I know, I know! Questions stacked in favor of full-bodied vulnerable connection. Stacked in favor of feeling oneself not just on but of the earth.
So be it. I have shown my hand. It is yours for the taking. The taking-up, that is, and carrying forth.
